11 months old!

On the 24th of May the babies will be 11 months old. I can’t believe how quick this past year has gone. Just a year ago (last May), Dr. Getta admitted me to St. Lukes for the duration of my pregnancy – I was 22 weeks along. The babies actual due date was Sept. 7, but they came a little early – June 24th at 29 weeks gestation.

I remember those long 7 weeks at St. Lukes. At the time it seemed so awful to be confined to that hospital bed - so boring and lonely. Looking back now, it was like a little vacation! Having visitors, watching tv, getting back massages twice a week, having my breakfast, lunch and dinner brought to my bedside. My how the days have changed – now it’s run, run, run!!! But I wouldn’t go back to those days of luxury for anything! I absolutely love and adore my babies and feel so blessed that I was given the chance to be a Mother.

This past month the boys have gone from rolling to army crawling. It’s the cutest thing – they kind of pull their bodies with their arms and kick their feet as if they’re in the water. Ava is still rolling and getting rather fast at it too.

Skyler has become quite the explorer. Usually the babies just stay in the living room, on the carpet, but the last couple of days Skyler has been testing the limits – he’s traveling into the dining room and kitchen. He seems to like the fact he can move a little quicker and with less effort on those hardwood floors. He lays by the sliding glass door and kicks the blinds – which make a noise each time they knock into each other. He’s also likes to get the rugs all bunched up. Little stinker.

Connor has developed a little rash on his body. We took him to the doctor and found out it’s called Fifth’s Disease, which is a viral infection. It looks terrible, but there aren’t any real complications to it, other than it can be a little itchy. The doctor said it should go away completely in 1-3 weeks.

The babies seem to get upset if Mom or Dad is giving their siblings attention and not them. So you usually end up on the floor with all 3 crawling all over you. It’s so much fun!

All the babies recognize when eating is taking place and think they need to eat too. Which can kind of be inconvenient if you’re trying to catch a quick snack/meal. They love eating and especially trying all the new (finger) foods.
